Metro Parks Summer Series: Great Southern + Battelle Darby 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸

Two parks.

Two stamps.

Let’s go.

First stop: Great Southern Metro Park.

The newest park in Columbus.

Like… just opened in April 2026 new.

So obviously we had to check it out.

For research.

(And stamps. Always for stamps.)

We hit the trail.

Climbed up to the observation deck.

Took in the views like we knew what we were doing.

Then Zuli spotted the pirate playground.

Immediate detour.

We climbed.

We explored.

We fully embraced pirate life. 🏴‍☠️

Then came the obstacle course.

And the fitness course.

Which felt like a good idea at the time.

10/10 effort.

Questionable execution.

Next up: Battelle Darby Metro Park.

And wow.

We were not prepared.

In the best way.

First stop… the nature center.

And it instantly took the #1 spot.

Best one we’ve seen so far.

Live stream inside with fish.

Turtles swimming around.

Hands‑on, interactive, actually engaging.

We could have stayed there all day.

But we kept going.

Because adventure called.

We went on our first family bike ride. 🚲

Equal parts wholesome and chaotic.

Memorable? Absolutely.

And then…

BISON. 🦬

Real, actual bison.

Just out there living their best lives.

And casually making ours better.

Two parks.

Two stamps.

Zero regrets.
